Kentucky Wildcats meeting with Yale star Isaac Celiscar

Kentucky Basketball is expected to hold a Zoom meeting Wednesday with Yale transfer forward Isaac Celiscar, according to On3’s Jamie Shaw, as the Wildcats continue to evaluate options in the transfer portal.
Celiscar, a 6-6, 210-pound forward, is coming off a strong sophomore season at Yale and will enter the portal with two years of eligibility remaining. He averaged 13.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while starting all 31 contests and logging 31.1 minutes per game.

Efficiency was a major strength for Celiscar, as he shot 57.3 percent from the field on 8.2 attempts per game. He has also shown the ability to stretch the floor, shooting 40.7% from 3-point range on 1.9 attempts per game, making him a versatile offensive option.
Celiscar raised their game in key moments at the end of the season. He scored 27 points against Cornell in the conference tournament, followed by 17 points against Pennsylvania. In the postseason, he added 23 points in an NIT loss to UNC Wilmington, demonstrating his scoring ability.
Along with Kentucky, Celiscar is also expected to meet with Baylor, highlighting the level of interest in the Ivy League star.
For Kentucky, Celiscar’s combination of efficiency, versatility and experience could make him an ideal fit for the Wildcats. His production and consistency are the main reasons why he has become a sought-after name in the portal.
