Conor McGregor was sentenced to an 18-month suspension for violation of UFC anti-doping policy after missing three control attempts last year, Fat Sports Anti-Doping announced on Tuesday.

“McGregor missed three attempts to sample biological samples over a period of 12 months in 2024, which constitutes a violation of the UFC ADP. [anti-doping policy]”Said the CSAD in a press release.

The missed collections took place on June 13, September 19 and 20, 2024 and were each recorded as location failures. The sanction was anti -dated from September 20, 2024 to March 20, 2026.

The CSAD noted that McGregor recovered from an injury and was not in preparation for combat during missed collections, and that it had fully cooperated in the investigation, accepted the responsibility and provided information explaining the circumstances.

Quoting these factors, the CSAD has reduced the standard penalty of 24 months by six months for three location failures. “Despite these attenuating factors, the CSAD stresses that precise information on the location and the ability to perform unexpected tests is essential to the success of the ADP UFC.”

McGregor, 37, has since reintegrated the UFC test group and provided four samples in 2025. The former champion of the two divisions has not contributed since July 2021. His struggle planned with Michael Chandler for the UFC 303 in 2024 was canceled after the withdrawal of McGregor due to an injury.
