What are the Patriot Games?
President Donald first announced the Patriot Games in July 2025 and offered some additional details in December.
Trump said the four-day fall competition would feature the top two teen athletes from each state.
The White House has confirmed that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will direct and administer the Patriot Games.
Trump did not provide much information on the exact format of the Patriot Games, or how athletes will be selected, but made it clear that transgender teenage athletes would be banned.
Trump made this clear in a video message released in December.
“In the fall, we will host the first-ever Patriot Games, an unprecedented four-day sporting event featuring the greatest high school athletes,” Trump said during the America250 video message. “One young man and one young woman from each state and territory.
“But I promise there will be no men in women’s sports. You’re not going to see that,” Trump added. “You will see anything but that.”
