Newark man in critical condition after Dec. 23 crash on Interstate 70

ZANESVILLE – A Newark man is still in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 on Dec. 23.
A 2018 Chrysler, driven by James Kramer, 80, was traveling eastbound near mile marker 148 outside Hopewell when the vehicle left the right side of the highway and struck a 2024 tractor trailer stopped on the shoulder, explained Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lt. Kristi Mistovich Dec. 24.
Kramer was transported to Genesis Hospital and was still in critical condition during the morning of Dec. 24, the hospital confirmed with the Times Recorder.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Antonio Perkinson, 36, of Powder Springs, Georgia, was uninjured.
The collision occurred around 8:28 a.m. in Hopewell Township. Other agencies that assisted at the scene included the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office and Hopewell Fire and EMS.
