Independent journalist Nick Shirley slammed Democrats over recently revealed massive fraud schemes, singling out Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar Sunday night as the worst Democrat who he says enabled or covered up the scams.

Democrats have battled Republicans over the numerous fraud allegations and ongoing investigations in states like California and Minnesota, even going so far as to introduce a bill that one Republican dubbed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” in California to hamper independent journalists working to expose the problem. Shirley confronted California lawmakers about the bill in a video he posted Saturday. During an appearance on Fox News on Sunday, Shirley called out Democrats like Omar, whom he called the “fraud queen,” for their “suspicious” behavior and motivations. “It’s a little suspicious to see your net worth go over millions and recently say it’s a mistake. I mean, I don’t think I’ve ever put two extra zeros as a mistake when I file a report,” said Shirley, “The Big Weekend Show” co-host Guy Benson. “So, Ilhan Omar, we know who she is, we know she’s like the queen of fraud, actually. So, Ilhan Omar, no respect for her.”

Under the Biden administration, the Justice Department investigated how Omar’s wealth had increased since she entered Congress, in part because of the income received by her husband. Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst said in a Jan. 8 appearance on “Varney and Company” that Omar attempted to embezzle more than $1 million intended for a suspicious “drug clinic” located in a Somali-owned restaurant.

Shirley’s December video featuring her visits to several purported daycares run by Somali migrants in Minnesota drew national attention to major welfare problems and other types of fraud resulting in millions of taxpayer dollars. Shirley discussed the bill targeting independent journalists in California, taking aim at AB2624’s sponsor, Democratic state Rep. Mia Bonta after co-host Tomi Lahren highlighted the congresswoman’s connection to California Attorney General, Democrat Rob Bonta.

“Their goal as a family should be to pursue and take care and make sure that there is so little fraud in the state that they can have as peaceful a night’s sleep,” Shirley said. “However, while the attorney general is supposed to prosecute fraud, his wife creates laws to allow fraud to continue, specifically stating that NGOs that receive money from immigrant services are not required to disclose their money.”

Shirley released a 40-minute video in March in which he investigated hospice centers in the Los Angeles area, claiming at one point to have uncovered at least $170 million in fraud. Shirley pointed out that security had also become an issue. (RELATED: Watch Nick Shirley Take On Democrats Who Are Trying to Criminalize Exposing Fraud)

“I was in the hotel, there were people on a group chat saying where I was saying it’s happened several times now, it’s almost even dangerous. [for] me to stay in hotels,” Shirley told Lahren, noting that he had received “constant death threats.”

“They should be working with me to crack down on this fraud instead of trying to make me look like a bad person,” Shirley added. “Maybe it’s because this fraud makes them look bad, but the reality is I’m here to help everyone. This isn’t a Republican or Democratic issue. There’s a lot more fraud in Democratic states… It’s frankly very stupid of them to launch these attacks when I’m providing a huge public service.”
