Republican Buys Dominion Voting Systems, Forces Them To Drop Lawsuits Against Conservatives

Dominion Voting Systems was acquired by Liberty Vote founder and chairman Scott Leiendecker in a deal that included dropping charges against conservatives.
Leiendecker, a former GOP election reform advocate, officially became sole owner of Dominion after conditioning the deal on dropping several pending lawsuits against prominent conservatives and One America News Network (OANN).
Leiendecker further revealed to the caller that remaining litigation with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and former Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell would be dropped by Dominion Voting Systems as part of the acquisition deal.
Dominion also filed a lawsuit against Herring Networks, owner of OANN, in August 2021. The lawsuit remains unresolved, although Leinendecker further confirmed that future litigation would be halted after the acquisition.
Liberty Vote will inherit an ongoing dispute with former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne, the Daily Caller has learned.
The acquisition makes Dominion an all-American company — a change that Leinendecker said is intended to build public trust, improve transparency and restore confidence in the integrity of U.S. elections.

“Every existing system is under review. Liberty Vote will be 100% American-owned, American-built, and independently audited. We won’t ask for trust – we’ll earn it and prove it,” Leindecker told The Caller in a statement.
The election technology company is being marketed to champion reforms to ensure that every American’s vote is secure and counted accurately, according to a press release.
Under its new leadership, Liberty Vote will move its operations entirely to the United States. The company says it prioritizes election integrity by implementing third-party auditing standards, the same statement added. “Liberty Vote marks the opening of a new chapter for American elections – one where trust is rebuilt from the ground up,” Leiendecker said in the press release. “Liberty Vote is committed to providing election technology that prioritizes transparency, security and simplicity on paper so voters can be assured that every ballot is accurately filled out and fairly counted.”
Additionally, the company is prioritizing the use of hand-marked paper ballots to enhance election security and compliance. This initiative aligns with President Donald Trump’s executive order entitled “Preserving and Protecting the Integrity of America’s Elections,” which aims to safeguard the electoral process and uphold federal standards.
Since the 2020 election, Dominion has launched several major defamation lawsuits, including a $1.3 billion case against Lindell, accusing him of spreading false statements about the company’s role in the 2020 presidential election to boost his pillow sales.
The company filed a $1.3 billion defamation suit against Powell over what Dominion described as “wild accusations” that she rigged the 2020 presidential election to ensure former President Joe Biden’s victory.
Dominion also filed a separate $1.3 billion lawsuit against Giuliani — a close Trump ally — alleging he repeatedly supported baseless claims that Dominion rigged the election in Biden’s favor. Newsmax Media Inc. reached a $67 million settlement with Dominion in August in its defamation lawsuit over the media outlet’s alleged defamatory coverage of Dominion regarding the 2020 presidential election.
The company previously reached a $787.5 million deal with Fox News, which agreed to pay the voting software company in April 2023.
