The Oath: to be a Palestinian doctor in Israel’s healthcare system | Israel-Gaza war

Around the world, newly graduated medical students are sworn to maintain the ethics of medical practice. Dr. Lina Qasem-Hassan, a Palestinian life and work in Israel, teaches medical ethics and practiced as a doctor, taking care of Israeli and Palestinian patients. In the international renowned health system of Israel, considered one of the main world examples, a quarter of doctors are Palestinian citizens of Israel. While the medical oath requires equal care for all patients, Lina sees a profession more and more in contradiction with this principle. Since the start of filming in February 2024, and with the conflict which has continued to degenerate since, Lina’s commitment to the oath remains unshakable
