Tim Cook says Apple is ‘open to’ AI acquisitions

Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company is “open” to mergers and acquisitions because it “considerably” increases its investment in AI, as CNBC reported. Cook’s statements were made in parallel with the release of the results of Apple’s results in the third quarter, which revealed that the iPhone manufacturer had collected $ 94 billion between April and June, marking an increase of 10% compared to the same period last year.
The remarks come then that Apple continues to be considered behind the AI race, with its efforts on Apple Intelligence late compared to its peers and the meta-burial of some of its best engineers. The company is increasingly turning to AI startups to get help – and reports have suggested that Apple is even open to make great acquisitions to make up for delay.
Speaking of AI, Cook said that the company “integrates it into our devices, on our platforms and through the company”, according to CNBC. Although Apple has presented major plans for a version improved by Siri’s AI, the time for its release remains uncertain after the company delayed the overhaul. The SVP of Apple software, Craig Federighi, said that he was simply not “reliable” to go out widely.
“We are making good progress on a more personalized Siri,” said Cook during a call for results on Thursday. “We also carry out a good number of people to focus on AI’s features within the company.”
Despite AI hiccups, Apple’s main companies remain strong. Apple’s iPhone activity increased by 13% year -old to $ 44.6 billion. Mac Revenue also experienced a boost, reaching $ 8.1 billion in income, probably due to Apple, which published a new MacBook Air in March. Apple’s revenues from Apple, which include subscriptions to things like Apple TV Plus, iCloud and Apple Music, have increased from 13% to 27.4 billion dollars, which, according to Apple, is a “summit of all time”.
However, there may be other challenges for these companies. In May, Apple said that President Donald Trump’s prices could cost the company at least $ 900 million during the June quarter. There is a chance that these costs can increase even more, because Trump has threatened Apple with a rate of “at least” 25% if the company does not bring production to the United States. Apple has already moved part of its production to India to reduce its dependence on China, a decision of which Trump is not a fan.
Apple is expected to launch its new iPhone 17 range in September. IOS 26 should be published almost at the same time, offering the design language of “liquid glass” which makes certain users divide.
