President Donald Trump welcomed the year 2026 by hosting his annual New Year’s Eve party at Mar-a-Lago, but before the festivities began, Trump said he was withdrawing National Guard troops from U.S. cities including Chicago, Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon, following a major setback at the Supreme Court.
