UFC 328 card, results, highlights, winners from Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland

UFC 328 was one for the ages. Saturday night in Newark saw incredible action throughout 13 fights, culminating with two title fights that lived up to high expectations.
In the main event, a new champion was crowned when Sean Strickland defeated Khamzat Chimaev to regain the middleweight title. Strickland previously held the championship after upsetting Israel Adesanya in 2023 before dropping it to Dricus du Plessis in 2024. Today, Strickland is a double champion after beating Chimaev as a +400+ underdog by surviving on the ground and keeping Chimaev at bay with his trick shot. Chimaev, meanwhile, later told Dana White that this would be his last fight at 185 pounds as he plans to move up to light heavyweight.
In the co-main event, Joshua Van retained the flyweight title with an incredible performance against Tatsuro Taira. Van was forced to rebound after Taira gained an early advantage with time takedown and control, but once he was able to get back to his feet, Van began to light Taira up with some solid boxing combinations. Taira then staged a rally of her own with more takedowns and some good counterattacks. But it turned out that Taira had simply too much damage absorbed, as a brief knockdown in the fifth round was enough for the referee to call it off, with Taira crushed by the decision. This victory definitively erases all doubts about Van’s legitimacy as champion.
