What will Zac Taylor do if Bengals lose Dan Pitcher?

The Cincinnati Bengals could soon lose offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher.
If that happens, it would mark another loss for Zac Taylor’s coaching staff to other teams via promotion.
In Pitcher’s case, it could be a “promotion” after an interview with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as Taylor granted him permission to speak with other teams offering coordinator roles in which he calls plays.

So if Pitcher leaves, one has to wonder if Brian Callahan could come back through that door.

Callahan was the coordinator before Pitcher and became head coach of the Tennessee Titans. He’s on the market right now and has yet to see his name come up often in job discussions.
Given the Bengals’ reliance on continuity, Callahan simply returning to work with Taylor and Joe Burrow would be a pretty safe bet. It would be hard to see them going outside the team for new ideas at this point, especially when 10 NFL teams have to hire new head coaches and entire rosters in the process, drafting all the big candidates.

Callahan returning if Pitcher leaves might be a bit boring, but it would certainly be boring for the Bengals, at least.
