Wilson is our starter, I’ll be ready when number is called

Jaxson Dart remained coherent about his place in the Giants’ depth painting after the first start of the NFL of the NFL on Thursday.
He continued to rely on Russell Wilson as a team’s regular season starter while clearly indicating that DART will be ready at the end of his time.
“I have the impression that every time my number is called, I’m going to go there and that I will play my game and my ball,” said Dart after the giants closed the pre-season an undefeated 3-0. “It’s my state of mind every time I touch the ground. Obviously, Russ is the starter, and he will be incredible. He had such a good camp and played at an elite level.
“So my work is just [to] Be the best teammate and be ready whenever it is, but I’m excited for Russ and what he’s going to do this year, “he added.” I just want this team to win. Whatever my role to make it happen, I will do this at best my abilities. »»
The clock now starts on how long it will take GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll to turn to their first-round choice in the quarter-tree this season.
The first GIANTS match was September 7 in Washington. They follow this with a road trip of September 14 in Dallas. Then they go home for a home waiting match on September 21 against AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs and a September 28 visit.
Wilson took most of the representatives of the first Giants team this spring and this summer, but Daboll has regularly increased DART’s responsibilities in practices and games in August. And Dart has manipulated all these new challenges in stride.
Not only did he play games. Dart clearly said that the NFL – pre -season match, anyway – was not too big for him. It clearly belonged.
And he got out of his recruited training camp, feeling as confident as ever that he could dominate a game, even at the highest level.
“When I walk on the field, I expect to play at a high level,” he said. “To be honest, I have the confidence that I have the impression of being the best in the field every time I touch it. I just expect to play [well]. This is just the standard I have for myself. So, if you don’t play this standard, it’s really frustrating. You just try to be consistent and play at your level.
The intensity of Dart was more than ever shown on Thursday when he faced the greatest adversity he encountered up to a pro.
The recruit escaped and was withdrawn from the game by the concrete Spotter of the NFL when he chose to take defenders of the Patriots in the open field rather than slipping during a race race in the first quarter. And Dart spent a lot of time on the touch with a frustrated look on his face and a towel above his head.
There were two reasons why he was turned upside down: he hates to return the ball, and it was checked that the officials took him out of the match.
“First of all, I just shouldn’t have tried,” said Dart. “Never been withdrawn from a match to make me eliminate the air, so it was a first. But I felt honestly that I could divide the [defenders] When I saw the field open. Honestly, in this situation, I did not feel like I was too threatened to give me a big blow. »»
Dart was wrong.
He told the referee that he was fine, but the officials did not hear him. Dart was therefore a video by telling the coaches to hurry and evaluate it by putting the blue medical tent to check it – while Jameis Winston was able to enter the game and finish the journey with a pass of a touchdown to Jalin Hyatt.
“Yeah, I didn’t understand why I had [taken] Off the field, “said Dart.” I just wanted to come back there and finish the reader. Everyone was walking. I say to myself: ‘Let’s go. I want to come back there. “”
The Recruit Quarterrier would not give what he had made the wrong decision not to slip, however. His competitive nature would not allow him to go back.
“I think it’s based on the situation,” said Dart. “I felt like I could play a better game on it and I thought I could divide them. I feel like I break a tackle, I have left. There are situations where things are super congestioned and you are going to take a big blow, you obviously want to go. I thought it was an open field, and I could have played. ”
So it took his nearest teammate, QB Tommy Devito, fourth rope, to offer direct advice to Dart.
“Diapente,” said Devito told Dart. “Dude, you don’t need to take these useless tubes. There are certain moments in the game, situations, yes, I understand, being a ball player. Moments like that, descend.”
Devito admitted, however, that Reining Dart is “a work in progress”.
“Try to help him a little,” said Devito. “It looks like the guy who will learn from personal experience, so I hope he will take this overview today and improve from there. But I knew it was fine.”
Daboll also said: “We would like him to slip”, but the head coach also looked a lot like Dart by defending the lines and instincts of the quartermal despite the result of the room.
“I would say that in this particular game is probably a good time to slip, a third pre-season match,” he said. “There is a time and a place ago. You would like to take the least sure that you can, but I like the competitiveness of Jaxson, its tenacity. You have to make the right decision. These are divided decisions, so I trust him … I will never take away his competitiveness. ”
It was another example of Daboll who finds it difficult to contain his enthusiasm for his young quarter.
The head coach also pointed his finger on several drops by the giant receivers, namely Jalin Hyatt and beautiful collins, for having injured Dart statistics in the game.
“I mean, each ball should have been finished, so … or all except one,” said the coach.
Daboll’s affinity for Dart and his game are undeniable. So, how much the Ole Miss product will sit on the Giants bench behind Wilson for a long time?
With each passing day, he feels less and less like Dart will be on the sidelines with a clipboard – and more and more as he will soon be the one who directs the show in games that count.
Giant list cuts
Friday, the giants reduced eight players when they reduced to a list of 53 men by the deadline of 4 p.m.: The wide receptors Zach Pascal, Montrell Washington and Jordan Bly; The seconds Dyontae Johnson and KJ Cloyd; Corner O’Donnell Fortune and offensive line players Jimmy Morrissey and Jaison Williams.
