The Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold will cost $2,900 in the US

As promised, Samsung is offering its Galaxy Z Trifold smartphone to US buyers. The unique foldable will go on sale on January 30.
The phone was announced with sales dates in select markets in late 2025. We didn’t have pricing information for Samsung’s home market at that time, and while we predicted the Galaxy Z Trifold would cost a bundle price, the actual cost is more absurd than we guessed. In reality, getting your hands on this slim, triple-screen smartphone will cost you $2,900.
Ridiculous expense aside, this smartphone is pretty cool. After his hands-on experience with the phone at CES 2026, Engadget Lead writer Sam Rutherford had overall positive things to say about the device, even if it required some wholesale compromises. To borrow his own phrase: “I kind of hate how much I love the Galaxy Z TriFold.”
Perhaps, as this cutting-edge design becomes easier to manufacture, prices will eventually fall into the realm of reality for the average consumer. But if you’re someone who would buy a separate smartphone and tablet, combining the two into one device might be worth the price. For now, anyone willing to pay the extra in the US will get the model that has 512GB of storage and comes only in black.
