The 2026 RBC Heritage begins Thursday in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and this event has only seen major winners win recently. Competing at the 2026 RBC Heritage, each of the last six editions of this event has been won by major championship winners, including Justin Thomas (2025), Scottie Scheffler (2024), Matt Fitzpatrick (2023) and Jordan Spieth (2023). They are all in the 2026 RBC Heritage field, with Scheffler the +390 favorite according to the latest PGA odds.
Xander Schauffele (+1300) is the second favorite to use in golf betting, followed by Fitzpatrick (+1500). One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2026 RBC Heritage: Cameron Young (+1,600), who has finished in the top 3 in each of his last three tournaments, stumbles and barely makes the top 10. Young has had a good run, including winning the Players Championship, but he doesn’t have the best run history at Hilton Head. He just hasn’t been competitive at this event recently, finishing outside the top 50 each of the last three years. While Young excels as a ball striker, the small putting surfaces at Harbor Town Golf Links don’t play to his strengths as he ranks 50th in putts per round and 85th in avoidance of 3-putts. Another surprise: Justin Thomas climbs the rankings despite long odds of +4500. Thomas enters the course as the defending champion, winning the playoff against Andrew Novak last year. He placed fifth at this event the year before and had three straight top-25 finishes at the RBC Heritage. Although Thomas hasn’t played enough rounds this season to qualify for statistical rankings, his SG: Around the Green metric of .605 still stands out. He would place fourth on tour if he had enough rounds under his belt, and that’s something that will serve him well with this course’s contoured greens and tricky pin positions.
